Bali is famous for its varied landscapes and its multitude of places to visit.
In Bonian, you are located in the middle of the length of the island, on the west coast. The famous Ubud or Tanah Lot and its temple are about an hour's drive away, for example. The mountain and the volcanoes are quickly reached by car and can be easily visited during the day.
The north of the island is wilder, with diving spots and very beautiful beaches.
The country around Balian
As soon as you go to the interior of the Island from Bonian, you will be in a perpetual tropical garden... You can visit the house of turtles in Balian or have a drink at sunset in one of the restaurants overlooking the beach.
Near Bonian, you can enjoy nice places like rivers, small waterfall, high hills with panoramas...
Going to the center of Bali (like the road to Pupuan) you will find some of the most incredible rice terraces in all of the island. A scenic drive through this area will take you through a mountainous rural area, featuring plantations of coffee, vanilla and clove. You can stop in one of the many cafes along the road for a traditional meal with unforgettable views.

- Ubud :
The Sacred Monkey Forest is one of Bali's several grey long-tailed macaque inhabited forests. It lies on the fringes of the Ubud main center. It's a place of scientific research as well as a site of spiritual and cultural aspects with temples sanctified by the local villages deep within its grounds. The sacred monkey forest has over 700 monkeys and 186 different species of trees.
- Mount Batukaru
The second highest mountain of Bali (2,200 meters), Batukaru is a site of pilgrimage for the Hindus of Bali, and it boasts one of the most scenic and sacred temples, Pura Luhur Batukaru. Mount Batukaru is completely covered in rainforest, as it is an extinct volcano on the largest wetland rainforest in Bali. Nice volcano wiew. On the way, visit the impressive Jatiluwih rice terraces.
A day with elephants :
In Ubud area, a park is dedicated to elephants preservation. You can have a complete trip there, feeding, washing and riding elephants. You can have lunch and visit the museum on site as well.
- Pupuan
A nice agriculture place with fine traditional market place. Can do a one day trip via Blimbing rice fields, Mekori monkeys temple, then visit the buddhist temple with hudge statues in Pujungan.
- Tanah Lot :
Is a rock formation off the cliffs of Bali. During a trip to Pura Tanah Lot, you will see an ancient Hindu pilgrimage temple and a popular tourist and cultural icon for photography. This is one of the biggest Bali temples. You go there from the villa through small roads without traffic, into the authentic beautiful country side of Bali (rice fields, small villages, empty beaches and bays...).
- Lovina
This holiday place in Bali north coast, is around 90 mn driving across the mountains with amazing views. The village is quiet. You'll find a yellow sandy beach with flat water, good for swimming, snorkeling or small boat trip in search for whales or dolphins...
- Waterfalls
Bali isn't just about beautiful beaches and sunset cocktails. This paradise island is home to stunning waterfalls too. And luckily for us adventurous souls, Bali is home to more than 14 of these hidden treasures, many of which are off the beaten track and unbeknownst to the tourist crowds. Especially in the north of Bali you will find the most impressive of waterfalls, famous and very touristic is the Git-Git waterfall but there are many other hidden waterfalls to be discovered like Blemantung which is much closer.

Treasures of Bali
- The Garuda Wisnu Kencana is a huge statue in the form of Lord Visnu. Located in Bukit Unggasan, has now been developed into a cultural park.
- Mount Batur is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas. Kintamani volcano is one of the most popular and favourite tourist attractions in Bali.
- Uluwatu, is the hot-spot for surfing and its famous temple set upon high tertiary-era white limestone cliffs. Every evening an indigenous 'Kecak' dance and fire show takes place. It is said to originate from a Balinese ancient ritual called Sanghyang, aimed as a form of exorcism or to repel evil spirits in which dancers fall into a trance.

- Pulau Menjangan : is a great place for scuba-diving enthusiasts and pristine beautiful beaches with calm seas for swimming.
